Certified Nurse Aide CNA - Full Time

Job Description

We are seeking Certified Nurse Aides (CNA) to join our team Per Diem! You will work alongside fellow caregivers to provide high quality patient care.

The Hospice Aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort. The Hospice Aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities (not all listed)

  1. Performing personal care/hygiene needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her request promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediately.

  2. Assisting patient's into/out of bed and with ambulation.

  3. Assisting with prescribed exercises which patient's and hospice and/or home health aides have been taught by appropriate health care personnel.

  4. Assisting patient's to the bathroom or in using a bedpan.

  5. Reporting changes in the patient's condition and needs to the Registered Nurse.

  6. Completing appropriate patient records. Documentation complete. Signature legible. Visit note follows care plan.

  7. Providing patient and family/caregiver with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality.

  8. Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, Oxygen, etc.).

  9. Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assigned.

  10. Assisting in dressing and undressing patient's as assigned.


  • Meets the training requirements of the State. Completed 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.

  • Sixteen hours of class room must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training.

  • At least 18 years of age. Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.

  • Satisfactory references from previous employers.

  • Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.

  • Secure with issues of death/dying.

  • Provides a calm manner when in a patient's home.

  • Has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.

  • Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.

  • Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization requirements and is in good working order.

Experience and Education:

  • 1 or more years of experience.

  • Education must be High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Must be Certified by the State


Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.(This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.)

  • Good oral and written communications

  • Good organizational skills

Other Requirements:

  • Provide patient care under direction of nursing staff

  • Assist in the transport of patients

  • Provide companionship and basic care to patients

  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment

Other Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in nursing, patient care, or other related fields

  • Ability to build rapport with patients

  • Compassionate and caring demeanor

  • Ability to work well in teams

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
