Injection Molding Set-Up Technician, Level II, 3rd Shift

Job Description

Position Overview: 

  • Perform setups & changeovers of electric and hydraulic plastic injection molding machines.

  • Responsible for accurate mold setups and maintaining a safe and clean work area.

  • Monitoring of auxiliary equipment, minor maintenance, & material handling functions.

  • Communicate setup status & schedule with prior and oncoming shifts.

  • Set expectations to achieve production requirements and promote shift interaction and awareness.

  • Promote safety by following all related policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Performs setups and changeovers of molds according to setup instructions and specifications.

  • Ensure that press tonnage setting & mold damage protection is set.

  • Assisting in modification of existing procedures

  • Responsible for injection molding machine set up including ancillary equipment as   related to the molding process

  • Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results

  • Performs functions and responsibilities of a material handler

  • Use appropriate equipment to perform mold changes

  • Set up End of Arm tooling for robotic part removal

  • Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling

  • Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts

  • Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years previous experience as a setup technician in the field of plastic injection molding.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.

  • Knowledge of robotics preferred but not required.

  • Requires a high school diploma.

  • Good communication/interpretation skills and attention to detail.

  • Must be able to walk/stand for a full manufacturing shift.

  • Must possess a positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
